Job Description Peterborough City Councils Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) is seeking an experienced flood risk professional to help achieve the goals of our Local Flood Risk Management Strategy. As Principal Officer, you will lead a small team focused on improving the water environment, investigating flooding incidents, implementing innovative flood risk management projects, and advising on surface water management for new developments in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. As part of Peterborough City Council, a unitary authority, you will enjoy a high degree of autonomy. You will have the opportunity to scope and commission innovative new Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and flood alleviation projects, including our upcoming Grey-to-Green project. Your work will significantly influence future developments through the planning process, allowing you to make a meaningful impact. You will work closely with our partnership organisations to develop collaborative projects and assist in sourcing third-party funding for projects throughout the city, while ensuring we meet our statutory duties under the Flood & Water Management Act 2010, the Highways Act 1980, and other relevant flood-related regulations and local policies.
